One thing you can\u2019t afford to risk though is arriving extremely late \u00a0to your own wedding or worse still having to wait for the page boy or best-man who is supposed to give you the ring at the alter.

There have been several worse case scenarios and the list is endless not mentioning how horrible it would be for the bride and groom to be stuck in Lagos traffic.<\/p>\n
We have decided to share some practical ways you can avoid this on you big day. Below are 5 things you can do to beat Lagos traffic on your wedding day.<\/p>\n
Getting married during the weekdays is no news. But if you particularly wish to get married on a weekday then please choose Thursday because on this day, all traders in Lagos are expected to clean their environs more like an environmental day for them.<\/p>\n
The road is usually very free up until 10 a.m in the morning. Now if you can set up on your way to the hall before 10 in the morning, you\u2019ll be beating the traffic with a huge smile on your face.<\/p>\n

Now this might sound like it wouldn\u2019t work but be patient and read to the end. \u00a0If you travel during the off-peak period and during the week, you would love Lagos but this is not always the case as traffic builds up every now and then especially in some key areas. You can control the situation and push the envelope irrespective.<\/p>\n
Have the exchange of vows done during the week at an \u00a0off peak time having with you key family members and friends around then you can have a light lunch or dinner after the exchange of vows at your residence.<\/p>\n
Afterwards, have the bigger party during the weekend where extended families and friends can come and celebrate with you anywhere in your choice area.<\/p>\n
At least, you wouldn\u2019t have to be pressed for time as you have already tied the knot.<\/p>\n

Most couples would rather lodge in a \u00a0hotel close enough to their center to avoid the traffic. Smart couples also know the importance of having their key vendors around and early enough to get the ball rolling. So, they lodge them around at the same hotel or a cheaper location.<\/p>\n
This would get all \u00a0key parties to the wedding on ground and on time for the ceremony. Even if your vendors agree to come at a very early time, you still can not rely on that because as you know, anything can happen in the interim on their way to you.<\/p>\n

Some places in Lagos are just so prone to traffic it\u2019s unbelievable. Anytime of the day or any day of the week, it\u2019s always the same, there will always be traffic. My advice is you avoid such areas when looking for a venue hall.<\/p>\n
Cancel any event hall around that area and look for an alternative location. If the price is just what you need for your budget then you need to think which of the two you wish to sacrifice- TIME OR MONEY. \u00a0Paying a bit more in an easily accessible area and having a stress-free day without the fear of traffic could be all worth the trouble.<\/p>\n

I can\u2019t begin to tell you how mashed up an area can be if there are more than two events halls located in the area and having weddings going on at the same time.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s confusing, frustrating and car parking can be, well, to say the least, a nightmare! It\u2019s just not practical and not a good sight too.<\/p>\n
Getting your guests confused about where and what doesn\u2019t keep you in the good light as a good host.<\/p>\n
Avoid such event centers all holed up in one area since the traffic towards that end would be very tight.<\/p>\n
