First things first, you should know that every Nigerian has the right to legally change their name. The process to legally change your name in Nigeria is a straightforward 2-step process.
Step 1 – Swear an affidavit in court stating your intention to change your name. An affidavit is a technical term for a sworn statement in writing made especially under oath or on affirmation before an authorized magistrate or officer of the court.
Step 2 – Publish notice of change of name in a national Newspaper, this is to give the general public notice that you have officially changed your name. However, that is not where it ends; the next thing is to be sure that you inform the relevant individuals about your change of name.
Due to modern day issues like financial fraud, terrorism threats etc. before you can prove your identity with the Government (e.g. getting an international passport or a drivers license) and your banks etc, you will be required to show a legal court documents to prove your identity. In such situation your marriage certificate would do.
Who should be notified of your new name?
Once you are done with the change of name process, be sure to change your name on all of your personal documents, inform your employers so they can update their employee records (and any tax records). If you are still a student then consider informing your school – some people avoid informing their school because of the fear that it complicates matters if you were admitted with one name, and then graduated with another name. Please note that there is no legal obligation to inform your school, if you decide not to because it is less complicated, then do not worry. Also, you should inform all your creditors and debtors about your change of name, and then finally all relevant government agencies.

It all began in 2013 when we came across each other on social media and became best of friends.
Fast forward to 2014, I took what would be the first step among many steps by inviting her Royal Majesty: KingingBev on a date. She declined on three consecutive occasions under the guise of busy schedule at work and in church.
Anyways, I was resolute and on the fourth occasion of my asking, she obliged to go on a date. Boy! and she was overwhelmed .
As we stared into each other’s eyes that fateful night I posed one question to her: “will you like to marry me sometime in the future?” She gave a heart warming smile & said “till then”)
The friendship began, flourished against all odds, and prospered against the tides.
Like our Father and Mentor taught us, we both stayed & stuck with the word, today, we are back with bags of testimonies.
I took the bold step on the 7th of July 2018 & here we are today, join us as we celebrate the beginning of our beautiful love story.

Every bride wants a stress free wedding but smooth sailing weddings only happen if you’re prepared for unforeseen circumstances that might threaten to spoil your big day. One of the ways to have a hitch-free wedding is to apply these must-have wedding hacks:
1. Have a bra sewn into your dress
Having your dressmaker sew a good, supportive bra of into your gown will prevent you from worrying about how n*p-slips, visible bra straps and uncomfortable falling straps. It saves you from a whole lot of stress.
2. Slip-on heel protectors if you are wearing stilettos for your outdoor wedding
A heel protector increases the surface of the base of the heel. This will give you balance while walking and prevent you from sinking into the grass.
3. Only invite people that you have been in touch within the last two years.
If you want to save cost and reduce the crowd, then only invite guests you have been in touch within the last two years. Trust me, it will save you cost.
4. Avoid getting a facial right before your wedding.
You should avoid getting a facial right before your wedding. It is possible that products or the method used could cause your skin to become dry, irritated or breakout. No one wants that on their special day! So, ensure you have your facials done a month or a few weeks before your wedding, to prevent a breakout or a skin irritation.
5. Put on a small amount of hand lotion before walking down
Apply a small amount of hand lotion before walking down the aisle. This will enable the wedding ring to slide in easily.
6. Use a magnetic veil weights
Keep your veil in place with magnetic veil weights. Most especially if you are having an outdoor wedding. This will keep your veil in a place. Your veil shouldn’t fly to the honeymoon before you.

You might know all about wedding traditions like the bride tossing the bouquet, but sometimes we forget that other countries have their own unique traditions too. Even if you’re on the fence about changing things up for your wedding, take a look at these 15 fascinating traditions. A simple one could be exactly what you’re looking for!
Kransekake in Norway
You don’t necessarily need a traditional wedding cake, so how about a kransekake? This tower of iced almond cake rings is built over a wine bottle to reveal the wine as guests break off pieces of this nontraditional cake.
Croquembouche in France
For another cake option, try the croquembouche. This is a delicious tower of cream-filled pastries that can be dipped in sweet sauces. Usually it looks pretty great as a centerpiece too!
The Black Wedding Cake in Jamaica
It’s very common for Caribbean countries to serve a cake made from dark fruits and rum. It looks great, tastes great, and can be used later in the year for Christmas too.
The Karavaya in Russia
Share a sweetbread that’s decorated with wheat for prosperity and interlocking rings for faithfulness. Whatever spouse takes the biggest bite without using their hands is now considered the head of the family.
Ring of Flowers in Pakistan
This practice is for the groom instead of the bride! The groom wears a ring of flowers around his neck, and sometimes, the bride can get in on the fun as well.
Bows and Arrows in China
Let your husband-to- be have a little fun like they do in China. Even though the groom shoots the bride with a bow and arrow several times, she’ll be perfectly safe. Then he just collects the arrows and breaks them during the ceremony so their love will last forever.
Stealing the Groom’s Shoes: India
Give the bride’s sisters a little more fun in an Indian wedding as they steal the groom’s shoes once he enters the wedding tent. The groom then has to bribe the sisters to get those shoes back!
Salty Bread in Armenia
Armenian men and women can have a slice of some high sodium bread, made by a happily married middle aged woman, to see their future husband or wife. For your single wedding guests, this is the perfect simple tradition to try.
The Blackening in Scotland
This tradition is a little bit out there, but in Scotland, the bride, groom, or both are piled with alcohol and covered in treacle, ash, feathers, and flour the day before the wedding.
Polterabend in Germany
In Germany, hen parties and stag nights grew out of the Polterabend tradition. Basically, family and friends smash dishware outside the homes of the bride and groom the night before the wedding and the bride and groom will have to clean it up together.
Two Bouquets in Mexico
If you’re catholic, you might like this tradition especially. By carrying two bouquets, you can have one for yourself and one as a tribute to the Virgin Mary. Some traditions seem a little strange to us while others would be a welcome change to traditional ceremonies. Either way, every one of these ceremonies represents the love newlyweds have for one another, no matter what country they’re from!
Veteran actors, Olu Jacobs and Joke Silva’s son, Olusoji, had his traditional wedding with his heart-rob, Boma, over the weekend and the groom’s mom was filled with so much joy giving us difference dance moves as she was ushered into the venue.
